Tennis
An exquisite freestanding tennis and fitness complex is located away from the golf clubhouse at our nearby Cheval Athletic Club. Cheval is home to nine superbly conditioned Har-Tru tennis courts (seven lighted) including a grandstand stadium court with tiered seating. All courts have ample cold water and nearby available shade. Members of our courteous and professional pro shop staff are USPTA certified and anxious to assist you with all your needs and requests. The program also offers overnight stringing, re gripping and other racket services.
Cheval has also hosted a $25,000 WTA Event, as well as numerous sanctioned adult and junior events (State, Sectional and National levels).

Former Cheval Members, Brad Johnson & Casey Weldon, visit Cheval for a workout on the tennis court and lunch poolside at the Tiki Bar. Brad & Casey were both quarterbacks at Florida State University and with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Brad won Super Bowl XXXVII with the Bucs and Casey was runner-up for the Heisman Trophy in 1991. It was great to see them back at Cheval!

Any potential tennis athletes between the ages of 10 to 18 are also invited to contact Cheval Tennis Professional, Eric Dobsha to set up an evaluation and a free initial lesson. This will enable him to determine the athlete's level
of ability and begin group sessions in January. These players should have general tennis knowledge and have already taken some private lessons/group clinics, or possibly participated in USTA tournaments. Our plan will be to develop our future stars program to this age group and have it begin January 2nd from 5-6:30pm. This group will train on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
It's important to note that these groups are going to be based more by playing level, more so than age. The age references in the group description are a general guideline. Some students, no matter their age, may only be eligible for certain groups. Those evaluations will be determined by the instructors at the appropriate time.
